Cattleman’s Square, the historic neighborhood West of downtown San Antonio, is entering a moment of transformation. Led by San Antonio Housing Trust, Project DC is an effort to create a shared, community-driven vision for a district that is safe, welcoming, and vibrant for all. Several parallel processes will work together at different scales to honor the neighborhood’s history, support residents and unhoused neighbors, and guide equitable development for the future.

Three Parallel Efforts, One Shared Vision
Cattleman’s Square is undergoing a community-centered transformation to ensure its future is rooted in equity, cultural vitality, and the well-being of all who live, work, and visit the district. Project DC, the Homeless Response Action Plan, and Street Outreach are moving forward together as coordinated planning and support efforts. While each focuses on different timelines and needs, they collectively build a foundation for immediate care, medium-term system improvements, and long-term neighborhood reinvestment.
About the San Antonio Housing Trust
The San Antonio Housing Trust (SAHT) works to create and preserve housing that is affordable, accessible, attainable, and sustainable for San Antonio residents while supporting equitable community development.
As the owner of three properties within the Project DC area, SAHT recognizes both the opportunity and responsibility to help guide the future of Cattleman Square. Through Project DC, SAHT is partnering with residents and stakeholders to shape a shared vision for housing, public space, and neighborhood investment recognizing that meaningful revitalization requires collaboration.
